Silver Spirit: Barbeque Under The Spanish Sky

Thankfully, my jinx on Silversea’s deck barbeques ended in Malaga, Spain. On every Silversea cruise I’ve taken in the past, bad weather forced the meal indoors.

However, as Silver Spirit remained docked in Malaga for the evening, the weather was as perfect as the setting. The barbeque spread included the suckling pig pictured here as well as barbeque ribs and chicken, steaks prepared on the spot and a variety of side dishes. For dessert, I chose Crepes Suzette.

As this is a World Cruise segment, guests were invited to dress in “Spanish” attire and some did with colorful fringed shawls on the ladies and matador finery for the men. A world cruiser told me that they were informed ahead of time of the “theme” nights and could pack accordingly or purchase items ashore, such as the lovely shawls and fans.

To end a beautiful evening, we were treated to a Flamenco Show featuring local performers. I’m so glad my deck party curse has lifted.

  1. Hi Linda,

I was reading your cruise blog (which is very good!) and wanted to send you a
brief message with an idea for a blog post that I believe would be interesting for
    your blog readers.

I'm the Founder of Cayole Cruises (www.cayole.com), which is a new and
unique website that was recently featured in Newsweek and in New York
Times (see below). On our website people can see historical and future prices for
each cruise sailing, as well as recommendations as to whether they should buy
their cruise now or wait until prices drop in future. Here is, for example, the
future price predictions and recommendations for Carnival Elation sailing
on September 19, 2011 (5 nights Caribbean cruise):

    http://www.cayole.com/Price_Prediction.php?Ship_ID=CCLEL&Departure=2011-09-19&Nights=5

In addition to the future price prediction, the following 3 features are also unique
    to Cayole.com:

    - You can quickly ask, say, "Show me all 6-10 nights Caribbean cruises from Miami
    that cost less than $400".
    - You can find the best cruise deals customized for you easily and interactively
    right on our homepage.
    - You can book your cruise online in 3 steps, unlike 6-7 steps on other sites.

Because of these unique features, I hope and believe that your readers would find
Cayole.com website useful. Perhaps I can ask you to write a blog post and
introduce your readers to our website?

Here are the links to Newsweek and New York Times article discussing Cayole.com:

I very much look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Ashot
