Unwind In “The Alcoves” Aboard Celebrity Silhouette

We really like the idea of having our own private spot at sea with a view that we don’t have to get up at dawn to “save” for later. That’s what “The Alcoves” on Celebrity Cruises’ new Celebrity Silhouette offer, and they can be booked ahead of time online.

Eight stylish, cabana-style settings that comfortably accommodate two to four people each, The Alcoves are designed for relaxation and a bit of seclusion just steps away from the unique atmosphere of The Lawn Club. Within The Alcoves, you can enjoy views of the lawn and sea; ambient mood lighting for cozy, romantic evenings; complimentary amenities including a fresh fruit plate, hand-held fans, chilled towels, four bottles of water, and all-day use of an iPad loaded with a variety of music, movies, games and magazines. Additionally, fresh, themed picnic baskets with selections from the ship’s specialty restaurants, as well as a la carte beverages, are available for an additional charge, and just a phone call away, via Celebrity Silhouette’s dedicated Alcove Attendant. Wine and cheese evenings under the stars and special spa services can also be arranged once onboard. You can even stay in touch with family and friends back home from The Alcoves as the area is fully WiFi-equipped (fee applies).

The Alcoves can be booked online for full-day rentals, from 9 am to 9 pm, or even for the entire cruise. Rates are $99 per Alcove per day on days in port, and $149 per day for days at sea. To book yours, visit the Celebrity Cruises website. Special values are available if you book one of The Alcoves for several days or for the entire cruise. Adjacent to The Alcoves are eight hammocks and two oversized Adirondack chairs, each offering complimentary, additional opportunities to relax—and the oversized chairs have proven to be a favorite photo op spot.

Celebrity Silhouette entered service July 23rd in Hamburg, Germany. After a series of Mediterranean cruises, the ship will reposition to Cape Liberty (Bayonne, New Jersey) in November to offer Caribbean sailings from the New York/New Jersey region.

  1. There are lots of beautiful parks in the world. Exactly why do you go to sea?
