A New Twist On Motion Sickness Relief

I wish I were on a cruise this week, I really, really wish I were anywhere but here at home recovering from dental surgery. When the oral surgeon explained he could do my upcoming implant one of two ways, either with local or general anesthesia, I chose to be totally asleep. It was the right decision.

The only problem I could foresee was that when awakening from the anesthetic, I would be queasy. I always have been in the past. One trick I learned many years ago was to put an ice bag on my neck right under my chin. That stops the sick feeling, but isn't always practical.

As someone who often suffers from motion sickness, I recently got a pair of Psi Bands (pronounced "sigh") to use on my next cruise. Acupressure has always worked to quell my nausea on cruises, car trips, and even air flights and the adjustable Psi Bands are much nicer looking than those dumpy grey elastic bands I've used in the past.

I put the Psi Bands on before my dental procedure and I'm happy to report that I felt no queasiness after my oral surgery. Now, if only it were so easy to alleviate the pain.
