Cruise News: Caribbean Princess Temporarily Out Of Service

Propulsion problems have caused Caribbean Princess to abort its current 7-night cruise, which departed San Juan on Sunday, March 11. The ship is presently sailing at reduced speeds back to the port of San Juan for repairs. Passengers are safe and on board services are unaffected.

Passengers on the current abbreviated Caribbean Princess sailing will be refunded their cruise fare and receive an unspecified credit for a future cruise

Princess Cruises will contact passengers who are booked on the next cruise with updates on the status of their scheduled March 18 departure.

  1. What a shame for all the passengers on board. I have seen another report about this saying that passengers can stay on board until Sunday then catch their normal flight home. I do empathise with the passengers as the Luxury Cruises had probably been planned for a while and were all looking forward to it. I know I would feel sad if this happened to me. Hopefully the Caribbean Princess will be fixed in time for the next cruise.

  2. We were on this cruise and we have just finally received back a portion of our cruise only! Not even a full refund of the cruise portion. We were on the two week cruise leaving on March 10 returning on March 25. We were offered a milk run flight home, which we turned down since we flew first class, leaving us to find find accommodations for the second week. Anyone else in this situation?
