Celebrity's Reflection Leaves the Building

Ship watchers from around the region gathered over the weekend at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany as they do whenever a new cruise ship "floats out" of the covered building. Celebrity Reflection, the fifth and final sister ship in Celebrity Cruises' Solstice-class of vessels emerged into the daylight to the delight of those gathered to see her for the first time in the sunshine. Now out of the dry-dock, she'll be alongside a fitting out berth until her conveyance down the River Ems.

This video from Meyer Werft gives an inside look of the float out process.

Work aboard Celebrity Reflection continues at the shipyard until she is ready for her conveyance on or about September 16-18. After completing her sea trials, she will be ready for her official launch in October.

Cruise Diva was honored to be on board when Reflection's older sister Celebrity Eclipse made her way along the river. If you missed it, join me on The “Conveyance”.
