Cruise News: Tropical Storm Isaac Brews Up Caribbean Cruise Itinerary Changes

So far, tropical storm Isaac has prompted at least two cruise ships to alter itineraries in the Eastern Caribbean this week. The storm is slowly growing in strength and making its way toward the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, and possibly the United States Gulf Coast by early next week.

These are the itineraries affected for which we currently have information:

Royal Caribbean International

Allure of the Seas, which departed Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, has switched its Eastern Caribbean itinerary to the Western Caribbean itinerary, and is calling at Falmouth, Jamaica and Cozumel, instead of St. Thomas and St. Maarten. In a statement, Royal Caribbean said they expect no other changes are forthcoming.

Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival Valor, on a cruise that left Miami on Sunday, will steer clear of the storm by skipping its scheduled call at CuraƧao today and will visit Nassau, Bahamas instead.

If you have a cruise booked that departs this coming weekend, stay in touch with the cruise line or your travel agent for updates.
