Latest Carnival Sunshine Video Showcases Ocean Plaza

From Carnival Cruise Lines, the latest installment in a series of Carnival Sunshine videos illustrates the dramatic progress being made toward the construction of Ocean Plaza, a stunning 4,600-square-foot café/entertainment venue on Promenade Deck that will serve as the ideal spot for coffee, cocktails, light snacks, and people watching.

Along Ocean Plaza, Carnival Sunshine guests can enjoy a cappuccino or latte at JavaBlue Café, cool off with a refreshing frozen treat at Shake Spot, sample bite-size appetizers at the Taste Bar, surf the web and check their email at the FunHub, or order a custom cocktail at the Alchemy Bar. Footage of the transformation of the striking new Sunshine Atrium and build-out of the RedFrog Pub—the largest in the Carnival fleet—is included below, as well.

These new spaces—and much more—are being added during a $155 million refurbishment of the Carnival Destiny which will emerge as the Carnival Sunshine when it enters service from Venice May 5 on its inaugural 12-day voyage, part of a summer schedule of 9- and 12-day European sailings through October. The ship will then sail on a trans-Atlantic crossing from Barcelona to New Orleans Nov 1-17, positioning the vessel for year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises from the Big Easy.
