Spend a Virtual Day at Labadee, Royal Caribbean’s Private Island

You may not be familiar with this destination because only cruisers can enjoy its expansive white sand beaches, meander through the local craft markets, or get adventurous on the Dragon Coaster or zip line during a day-long port call there. Located on a 260-acre peninsula, I’m talking about Labadee, which is approximately six miles from Cap Haitien on the secluded north coast of Hispaniola (more familiarly known as Haiti). Families can also cool off at the Aquapark or the Dragon's Splash Waterslide before heading to the beach or a private rental cabana to lounge the day away.

In addition to swimming, water sports, an Aquapark, and nature trails to explore, visitors to Labadee are treated to an authentic folkloric show presented by island performers. A market, where you might find an interesting painting or unique wood carving, features the work of local artists and crafters. Naturally there are hammocks for relaxation in the shade, bars for refreshments, and a huge beach barbecue is served by the ship’s crew.

Take at look at what’s in store if your ship includes Labadee on the itinerary:
