“Linked By The Sea” Aboard Princess Cruises

Unlike other cruise line blogs that are generally written by employees to share announcements and information, Princess Cruises’ blogs also rely on passengers to share their experiences with readers. In 2011, they rolled out their first blog, 50 Essential Experiences, The Travel Bucket List in which Princess destination experts and readers shared their Essential Travel Experience of the Week (Cruise Diva’s contribution is here, The Hidden Value of Travel: Amsterdam, The Netherlands).

Inspired by the success of that year-long themed blog, Princess launched a new one for 2012 entitled “Inspired to Cruise: A Year of Reasons to Get Away From the Everyday.” The blog chronicled diverse reasons why passengers are compelled to take a cruise vacation, including a mix of celebrations, accomplishments, family milestones, and other deeply personal reasons to take a cruise.

The line recognizes that a voyage on a Princess Cruises ship not only offers a relaxing retreat from which to explore the world, but also often results in the creation of new friendships or touching connections with others. Princess constantly hears such stories from passengers and crew, and each week throughout 2013 shared one about personal bonds that occurred on a Princess cruise in “Linked by the Sea.” The blog has now wrapped up a year of chronicling interesting stories from passengers and crew members who have made significant connections at sea during a cruise. In total, 48 travel stories captured the diverse ways people make discoveries onboard that lead to meaningful or lifelong relationships.
