Carnival Vista Completes Sea Trials

Last week Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, the 133,500-ton Carnival Vista, successfully completed its final sea trials in the Adriatic Sea in anticipation of its inaugural cruise from Trieste, Italy, May 1, 2016.

Presently in the final stages of construction at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard, the 3,954-passenger vessel had a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers on board who thoroughly tested Carnival Vista’s navigation, technical, and mechanical systems.

Carnival Vista will offer a number of innovative features, including a unique suspended cycling attraction called SkyRide, the RedFrog Pub & Brewery, the Family Harbor staterooms and suites, the first IMAX Theatre at sea, and the 455-foot-long Kaleid-o-slide, the longest water slide in the fleet.

Following its May 1st inaugural sailing from Trieste, Carnival Vista will operate a schedule of 8- to 13-day Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona and Athens. The ship will then reposition to New York in November for a pair of 11-day voyages before launching year-round Caribbean service from Miami later that month.
