Crema de Malanga |
Recognized for cuisine that is always inspired by the finest and freshest ingredients available, and reflective of the many varied regions to which the line travels, Oceania Cruises’ guests will now have the opportunity to try classic Cuban dishes such as ropa vieja, a slowly stewed dish of shredded beef, mild spices, white wine, and tomato; arroz con pollo, a Cuban staple of chicken and Arborio rice made with saffron; and crispy malanga fritters, made from a root similar to taro. Meanwhile, fresh coconut, aromatic pineapple, and sweet lime infuse seafood dishes with island flair. Local tropical fruits and expertly crafted local rums transform into signature Cuban cocktails such as mojitos and daiquiris, perfect for relaxing poolside.
“With Frank Del Rio, the founder of Oceania Cruises, and many of our team members hailing from Cuba, our Cuban menus were created with great pride and passion, and reflect a deep understanding of the cuisine’s traditional roots,” said Bob Binder, President & CEO of Oceania Cruises. “These menus feature many generations-old family recipes from our Cuban team members. The vibrant and authentic dishes offer flavors to please every palate–we are thrilled to be showcasing the celebrated cuisine of this captivating island on board our ships.”
Guests can savor the finest Cuban cuisine at sea aboard Marina’s voyages to Cuba this March as well as during Insignia’s six recently announced November and December 2017 cruises to Cuba. For more information about Oceania Cruises, visit OceaniaCruises.com.
