The Captain of the Port is establishing Hurricane Port Readiness Condition YANKEE starting at 0800hrs. Keeping the current track of the hurricane, the following conditions are being implemented:
TUNNEL LOCKDOWN: Friday, September 8th at NOONCruise travelers should contact their cruise line directly for more information on cruise itineraries.
BASCULE BRIDGE LOCKDOWN: Friday, September 8th at 1500hrs
ZULU- PORT CLOSURE: Friday, September 8th at 2000hrs
Port Everglades
The U.S. Coast Guard set Port Condition YANKEE (24-hour alert) at 8 AM today, and anticipates setting Hurricane Condition ZULU (12-hour alert) tonight at 8 PM Friday, September 8.
Cruise passengers should contact their cruise line and airline for more information on the status of their cruise or flight.
The Port is currently closed to inbound ships.
Port Canaveral
The US Coast Guard Captain of the Port (COTP) has set Hurricane Condition Yankee for Port Canaveral: Sustained gale force winds are predicted within 24 hrs. Condition Yankee marks the last chance to further prepare Port Canaveral as well as mitigate potential heavy weather threats. Only essential Port personnel will report to work.
As of 3:00 PM today, Port Canaveral will cease all operations and is closed until further notice.
Port of Jacksonville (JAXPORT)
In preparation for Hurricane Irma, the U.S. Coast Guard has set Condition X-RAY for the Port of Jacksonville.
All JAXPORT terminals will close at 11:59 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 8.
JAXPORT’s administrative offices are closed today through Monday, Sept. 11.
Port of Tampa
Port Tampa Bay security and operations personnel are at condition "X-Ray" for Hurricane Irma.
