Brunch At Sea Aboard Carnival Sunshine

Sea days are a good time to sleep in and then enjoy a leisurely brunch. Aboard Carnival Sunshine we decided to do just that.

Along with the usual breakfast items you’d expect, such as steak and eggs, omelets, eggs benedict with either ham or salmon, pancakes, toast, croissants, coffee, and juice, there are also early morning starters such as fruit and cottage cheese, and midday-style selections like Caesar salad, mac and cheese, flaming tomato soup, pappardelle “Princie di Napoli” pasta, grilled salmon filet, hen ala diavola—chicken grilled with lemon and hot pepper, and a “hey” pork chop—a double cut pork chop topped with carmelized onion, and gorgonzola cream with sides of fries and blistered beans in BBQ sauce. A favorite with kids is the funnest French Toast, crusted with either Honey Nut Cheerios, Raisin Bran, or Frosted Flakes.

Ending with desserts—if you still have room—choices include ice cream, carmelized cheesecake, a double chocolate brownie, or banana cream pie just like grandma used to make.

The Bloody Mary Bar offers the traditional drink with vodka, or the bartender will mix up your own creation with rum, gin, or tequila—a “Bloody Maria.”

Brunch—a great way to start the day on Carnival Sunshine or her fleetmates—served from 8:30am until 1pm on sea days.
