Carnival Sunshine Is So Entertaining

Studio VIP
With its launch this year, Carnival Sunshine introduced two brand new production shows—Epic Rock and Studio VIP, along with two other high-tech “Playlist Productions” shows—Latin Nights and Motor City, both of which debuted on Carnival Breeze last year.

In place of traditional stage scenery, Carnival’s “Playlist Productions” revues utilize towering LED screens that blend video, photographs, and special effects with the live on stage action of the singers and dancers to deliver engaging performances as the artists interact with automated movements of the screens, stage, lifts and scenic elements.

My personal favorite show is Motor City, which celebrates the R&B Motown sound of the 1960s and ’70s, with classic hits from Martha and the Vandellas, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, and The Supremes to the more contemporary Stevie Wonder, Jackson Five, Lionel Richie, and the Commodores. The performers on the stage drew gasps from the audience when they perfectly synchronized their movements with those of the original artists projected on the screens behind them.

Hint: The shows are wildly popular so arrive early to get a seat. You won’t be sorry.
