For competitive passengers, there are trivia contests on topics ranging from television shows and name-that-tune music to sports and mixed bag subjects. Bingo is another popular option—yesterday during a session in which the game was to fill the B and O lines on the cards, the winner shouted out, “I have BO!” and won $500.
Gaming of a more individual nature is naturally found in the casino and right next door is The Warehouse, an arcade with games to entice the entire family to play together.
Family fun is also found outdoors where miniature golf, basketball, pool, foosball, corn hole, shuffleboard, and a variety of other games are found in the SportSquare—there’s even a Twister game permanently painted on the deck. High above is the challenging ropes course and aft is the huge Water Works park with three water slides—including one that extends over the side of the ship—for splashtastic excitement.
Excitement of another sort is on stage in the main show lounge when it’s time to play Hasbro The Game Show, which places passengers in the middle of the action to play six life-size versions of Hasbro games and compete to win prizes. The competition to be selected as a player is as fierce as the games themselves.
Watching sports and keeping up with favorite teams is also a cinch aboard Carnival Sunshine in the EA Sports Bar—just keep your fingers crossed that the ship’s satellite system includes the channel you want to watch. If not, the scores are displayed on digital signage.
