New Pre-Cruise Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency Pier 66

Since we live within a day's drive of south Florida embarkation ports, Mel and I often begin our cruise travel with a road trip rather than flying to port. We always spend a night in the area before departing on our cruises.

We've stayed at many hotels in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami areas over the years and recently spent the night at one of our favorites, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66. Pictured here is our spacious Junior Suite in the hotel's high-rise tower.

Who could have imagined that the 22 acres of swamp land purchased by Phillips Petroleum over a half century ago would grow from a simple watercraft gas station to one of Fort Lauderdale's premier landmarks? Take a fresh look at Hyatt Regency Pier 66.
