The HEAT Is On In Miami

In case you haven't heard, the Miami Heat beat out the Oklahoma City Thunder for the NBA Championship a few days ago. In celebration, a Victory Parade has been scheduled in downtown Miami on Monday, June 25th, which has the potential for large crowds and heavy traffic. Cruise lines with scheduled departures tomorrow have issued the following warnings:

Norwegian Cruise Line: Norwegian Sky's June 25th Miami Departure
Norwegian Sky is scheduled to sail from the Port of Miami on Monday, June 25. The Miami Heat victory parade is also scheduled for Monday, June 25. Some of the victory parade festivities will take place in the downtown Miami area and include streets that provide access to the Port of Miami. Traffic delays are expected beginning at 9:30 am throughout the day.

Given the probability of traffic delays, we ask that guests who are scheduled to sail on Norwegian Sky on June 25 provide ample time to arrive at the port for boarding. The ship's 5 p.m. departure will not be delayed due to traffic. As a reminder, all guests must be checked in and on board the ship at least 60 minutes prior to sail time.
