Cruise News: Ernesto Weakens, But Still Shuffles Cruise Ship Itineraries

While former hurricane and now tropical storm Ernesto is still on the move, the National Hurricane Center reported this morning that its maximum sustained winds are now reaching 50 miles an hour and it's dumping heavy rain on portions of the Yucatan Peninsula. Another cruise ship itinerary has been altered to avoid the storm.

Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival Elation, which departed New Orleans on Monday, is spending the day at sea today instead of calling at its scheduled port in Progreso, Mexico. The ship will visit Cozumel on Thursday as originally planned.
