Princess Commits to Houston Homeport for Two More Years

Texas cruisers, in addition to officials in charge of Houston's Bayport Cruise Terminal, have a lot to Yee Haw about.

Princess cruises will be sailing from the Port of Houston for an additional two seasons beyond what was previously announced in an earlier agreement with the Port Authority. Extending their presence in the Houston area, Princess Cruises has committed to sailing from the Bayport Cruise Terminal in Pasadena, Texas during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 cruise seasons. Also included in the agreement are two one-year options, which could mean Princess will homeport there into 2018.

Caribbean Princess kicks off the inaugural season with a Nov. 5, 2013 cruise to support US veterans, which is expected to raise up to $1m for two veterans organizations. Caribbean Princess will continue to sail from Bayport for the rest of the 2013-14 season. In late-2014 Emerald Princess will take over and make Houston its homeport for Western Caribbean sailings.
