Carnival Cruise Lines' Owen (The Brontosaurus) Hits The “Towel Animal Big Time”

Have you ever met a Towel Animal? No? Here’s your opportunity to get up close and personal with one of Carnival Cruise Lines’ feisty critters.

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Owen. Classically trained as a cabana hand towel, he first gained popularity in the Triassic period for his role in the comedy troop T-Rex and the Vertebrates. His signature catchphrase, “Meteorite schmeteorite,” played well with audiences and soon Owen grew tired of playing second fiddle to T-Rex. It wasn’t long until one night when Owen finally let loose on T-Rex saying, “You, sir, have silly short arms. And I’m through with you!” That final contact with T-Rex and the Vertebrates was the beginning of his solo career.

After a brief stint in Las Vegas opening for Tony Orlando, Owen returned to the sea and found work with Carnival. “It is here that I have found true happiness,” he said recently. “Days cruising the open water and evenings entertaining guests of all ages. What more could a giant lizard ask for?”

Towel Animals are the ultimate bedtime pals. Learn the “history” behind your cabin steward’s creations and how they have evolved as a cruising tradition.

And now you can also download folding instructions to create your own Brontosaurus at home (a pdf file).

Did you ever see the DVDs on towel origami? I bought them from
I find it easier than trying to learn from books on towel folding. I'll check out your pdf on the brontosaurus. My son will probably really enjoy that one. Thanks for posting this.
