As you probably know, cruise lines and cruise ports, like airlines and airports, are required to follow certain procedures and that includes gathering passenger information to submit to the United States Transportation Security Administration.
If you are a past passenger of Carnival Cruise Lines and have given them your email address, you probably received the following notification. If not, this is a policy you should be aware of in order to be an informed passenger the next time you sail.
Dear Valued Customer,
Carnival Cruise Lines has made a number of updates to our Privacy Policy. While we are not changing how we share or disclose the personal information you provide us, we have updated our policy to reflect the innovations we've added to our website.
Here are some of the main changes to our Privacy Policy:
• We have added the following sections: "Transportation Security Administration Secure Flight Notice" and "Affiliate Marketing Opt Out" to disclose the TSA requirement that you provide certain information when you are booking flights and to let you know our procedures for opting out under the Affiliate Marketing Rules. Please consult those specific sections for more information.
• To ensure compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, use of our website continues to be restricted to people over the age of 13. We encourage you to take a moment to read our new Privacy Policy for more details, which can be found at the link above.
As of July 4th, 2012, your information will be used in accordance with the new policy. If you do not agree with our updated privacy practices, please notify us at privacypolicy@carnival.com and we will adjust your preferences in our system.
