Make Your Own Warm Chocolate Melting Cake

A story that I love to tell Carnival Cruise Line executives is about the lady who complained to me that she was served the worst cake ever on a Carnival cruise. It didn't take long to discover that what she described as cake that "wasn't baked" was actually Carnival's signature Warm Chocolate Melting Cake.

One of Cruise Diva's favorite desserts, and one that is available every night on Carnival Cruise Lines' ships, is Warm Chocolate Melting Cake. It's a serious chocolate lover's delight—firm around the edges and gooey chocolate heaven in the middle.

The latest issue of Carnival's "Funville Times" included the recipe and Cruise Diva is happy to pass it along to those of you who love it as much as I do!

Warm Chocolate Melting Cake
  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 7 eggs, divided use
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Melt chocolate and butter; cool 10 minutes.
In separate bowl, mix four eggs with sugar. Whisk.
Add flour and whisk.
Add remaining three eggs.
Add egg mixture to chocolate mixture.
Pour in individual ramekins.
Bake until just done, about 15-20 minutes (interior will be melting).

Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy!

We were on Carnival Miracle 9/21 from NYC and everyone loved this dessert. We are having a cruise reunion on 10/16 and I will bring this, as well as the white chocolate bread pudding from the carnival cook book I purchased on board! Thanks for posting the recipe!
