Celebrity Cruises Raises Specialty Dining Charges

Murano Restaurant aboard Celebrity Solstice
If you haven't pre-booked your specialty dining reservations in certain popular restaurants by Sept 1st, you'll be paying a higher cover charge on Celebrity Cruises' ships after that date. Surcharges are rising from $5 to $10, depending on the restaurant.

French-inspired Murano restaurants, found on the cruise line's Solstice-class ships and on Celebrity Century, will charge $40 per person (up from $35 per person). The same increase will be found by diners in the upscale ocean liner-themed restaurants on Celebrity's four Millennium-class ships.

Aboard Celebrity Eclipse and Celebrity Silhouette, the charge for meals found on the iPad menus in their quirky, fun-food Qsine restaurants is also going up to $40 per person.

In an unusual move, Celebrity is increasing the cover charge at its just-introduced Lawn Club Grill aboard Celebrity Silhouette from $30 to $40. That seems like quite a hike for a restaurant that hasn't yet established a following and where diners are encouraged (but not required) to grill their own food.

Pre-booked specialty dining reservations for the restaurants mentioned above that were made before Sept 1st will be charged at current rates. Charges for the other specialty venues are not increasing. For the time being, at least.

It is a pity but fortunately most premium cruise lines dont charge for most activities like some of the budget class lines.
