Cruise News: Hurricane Isaac & the Port of New Orleans

Carnival Cruise Line Statement

CARNIVAL ELATION - 8/30/12 DEPARTURE

We are closely monitoring the effects of Hurricane Isaac.

Hurricane Isaac is expected to make landfall off the coast of Louisiana later this evening. Local officials have informed us the Mississippi River is currently closed to ship traffic and may cause a delay in our return to New Orleans on Thursday.

To stay up to date on any changes that may affect our departure, port closures, and weather updates, we encourage you to sign up for text alerts by texting CCL1 to CRUISE (278473). If you have already done so during your online check-in, you will automatically receive updates.

We will continue monitor the situation and provide you an update on any new developments. Rest assured, the safety and comfort of our guests and crew is our number one priority. We will operate all of our ships at a safe distance from the storm at all times.

At the moment, there are no changes expected for any other sailings departing on or after Wednesday, August 29, 2012. In the event we need to make a deviation to a future itinerary, we will update our guests. We will continue monitor the situation and provide you an update on any new developments.
